When and How to use Flushable Diaper Liners Blog Header

Experience easy clean-up and protect your cloth diapers from creams by using Flushable Diaper Liners!

Flushable diaper liners are great for removing some of the “ick factor” that is often associated with cloth diapers. Lay one inside the cloth diaper and once the diaper becomes soiled, flush it and the poop down the toilet, mess-free!

Flushable liners also work great as a barrier to keep diaper cream off of your cloth diapers. Diaper cream, whether touted to be “cloth diaper safe” or not, will cause repellency issues, which can cause leaking. Laying one flushable liner between your baby’s skin and their cloth diaper will protect the fabric from the cream. If you do happen to get some diaper cream on your absorbent cloth diaper, be sure to wash in very HOT water to ensure all the cream gets dissolved.

When you lay your liner inside the cloth diaper, make sure to fold or tuck the edges to ensure the flushable liner isn’t poking outside of the waterproof cover. If the flushable liner is poking outside of the cover, it could wick wetness out of the diaper and onto your baby’s clothing.

Be sure to choose a brand of flushable liners that is not too thick, so that it can easily flush and break down like toilet paper. If your flushable liners are too thick, you can do serious damage to your city’s sewage system, as well as plug up your own toilet.
