Polar Fleece in Cloth Diapers
Ever wonder why Mother-ease doesn't use fleece in any of our products?
It is true that fleece offers a 'stay dry' effect, however, the science behind the fabric questions why it's used inside cloth diapers.
Polar Fleece is commonly used in jackets, hats, sweaters, sweatpants, gym clothes, hoodies, inexpensive throw blankets, high-performance outdoor clothing and even cloth diapers! This fabric is lightweight, warm and soft, however, it's hydrophobic!
Hydrophobic materials tend to repel water so why would it be used in cloth diapers?
This choice of fabric leads to the most common problem in cloth diapers, namely leaks. Diapers that use polar fleece directly against their baby's skin will have a hard time absorbing urine quickly enough. It can simply bead up and roll out the leg before it has a chance to soak in.
Since Mother-ease is committed to offering convenient, leak-free diapering systems, we do not offer any of our products made with fleece. We do offer a Stay Dry fabric that is very absorbent, and absorbs quickly which eliminates the chance of a leaky diaper!
Be sure to consider your options when choosing a suitable cloth diaper or determining what's causing your cloth diaper to leak!
